The Admiral Nelson, Twickenham
About This Spot
Stepping into The Admiral Nelson in Whitton feels like finding a welcoming corner where tradition and vibrant flavors meet effortlessly. This neighborhood spot holds the comforting hum of a classic British pub—where the clink of glasses and the buzz of lively chatter create an inviting backdrop—yet surprises you with the warmth and zest of an authentic Thai kitchen tucked within its walls.
The pace here is easygoing, unhurried yet animated, especially when weekend evenings roll in with live music and sports fans gathering around the many screens. It’s a place where friends settle in for a pint of Guinness or a crisp Aspall cider, while the aromas from the Thai section promise a journey into fragrant, spice-tinged dishes served in generous portions that invite sharing.
The Admiral Nelson gracefully balances the cozy familiarity of a local pub with the spirited excitement of something a little different. Whether you’re drawn by the comforting Sunday roast or the aromatic richness of green curry and massaman, the flavors feel fresh and thoughtfully prepared—as if each plate holds a piece of the kitchen’s care and local pride.
There’s a rhythm to the service here that’s both attentive and warmly personal. Staff members seem genuinely rooted in the community, adding a layer of hospitality that makes every visit feel like coming home. This is a spot where the best moments aren’t just about food or drink, but about the shared joy of gathering—family meals that linger, friends celebrating, and strangers caught up in the warmth of good company.
If you're exploring Twickenham beyond the usual, The Admiral Nelson offers a quietly lively experience that honors the past and embraces a little culinary adventure. It’s a place to slow down, taste thoughtfully, and savor the subtle human moments that make a local pub more than just a stop—it becomes a place to come back to.

Excellent local pub with a great selection of drinks and a lovely Thai Restaurant. Food is top quality with great portions. Prawn toast and ribs were delicious as were the noodles and massaman curry. Live music on Saturdays and tvs showing live sport.

We visited on Sunday for a family meal and had such a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and full of flavour, and the service was amazing A huge shout out to Victoria, Monique, and Suraj for looking after us so well. They were warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Their hospitality really made the day special, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. Thank you all for making our family meal so enjoyable

Visited this pub after the Womens Rugby World Cup Final and despite being understandably very busy the service and the staff were brilliant, can't fault anything about the Admiral Nelson, would deffo recommend 100% whether you're visiting Twickers or not
